Patronised by the hair department on 300. I don't mind being bald. I've been going bald since I was 18, so I'm definitely used to the idea and I certainly don't fret about it. However, when the opportunity arisies to stick on a wig, I susally jump at the chance. I'll admit I do get a bit jealous when working with actors who aren't as "follicly challenged' as I am (Bite me, Gerry) but you can't have everything, eh.

My martial arts training started early in life, but I only really began to make progress when I joined the Seel Street Hung Gar Club in Liverpool. The bar was set very high and my skills developed in leaps and bounds over the years I spent there. One of my Sifus used to have us walking in deep horse stance through the park with logs across our shoulders. Sadist.

When I arrived in London in 1993 to train at Drama Centre, I struggled to find a MMA club of the same calibre. I still keep very fit and flexible, but haven't been to a class in many years.

EXTREMITIES My very first play back in 1990. It was a completely terrifying experience, but ultimately a formative one. It was my fortuitous involvement in this project that had me fall in love with acting and realise there was nothing else I really wanted to do. The producer Ian Brady (far right) and I became firm friends and even now we often joke about his blasé attitude towards the production of this show. He's since gone on to produce several films, none of which feature me. Punk.
